A Real Story of Emotional Healing and Coming Home to Your Body

A Session Begins with Intention

“Okay, let’s begin by having you state your intentions,” I said at the start of one of my group energy healing sessions.

“My intention is health and connection with Spirit,” one woman shared. She’s a successful entrepreneur who has been carrying persistent physical discomfort—aches and tension that medical tests can’t explain, but that her body insists are real.

I guided the group through a process of slowing down, grounding, and listening deeper. Going beyond thoughts, to the quieter signals underneath—the body’s wisdom, the emotional truth that so many overthinkers and achievers learned to override.

After a few minutes, she exhaled sharply. “I just realized I have this belief that I’m supposed to be in pain. That I don’t deserve comfort unless I’ve earned it. That if I feel good, I might accidentally harm someone.”

“WOW!!!,” I said. “That’s a powerful recognition. And it makes perfect sense that your body would carry that.”

I offered healing energy and invited her to gently hold the belief—not fight or try to fix it—just allow space for it.

Soon, a childhood memory surfaced.

She recalled being about three years old at a family gathering. A group of older cousins teased her for the way she mispronounced a word. Everyone laughed. She felt heat rush through her body—confusion, humiliation, and the sudden, cutting belief: Something is wrong with me.

As I continued offering support, she allowed herself to feel the embarrassment she’d carried for decades. Slowly, the energy softened.

“They were just kids,” she said. And when she spoke those words, I watched her energy strengthen—in that moment she reclaimed a lost part of herself.

Another memory arose, this one from early elementary school:

She remembered walking into class and seeing a classmate receive praise from the teacher. She looked at the girl and thought, She’s so much prettier and smarter than me. I bet everyone would rather be friends with her.

Her younger self made a conclusion about the event: I’m not enough. I don’t belong in my own skin.

As we worked, I saw how her energy was disconnected from her body.

“The five-year-old you was out of her body,” I said gently.

“Yes,” she replied. “the only way I knew how to cope was to escape.”

When the Body Disconnects — and What That Causes

Understanding the mind-body split during early stress and trauma

So many high-achieving adults learned to do this without realizing it. We left our bodies to survive moments we didn’t have the support to process.

But when a part of us leaves, our grounding, self-trust, confidence, and wholeness leave with it.

How reintegration restores clarity, self‑trust, and presence

Together, we honored the part of her that felt “bad,” unworthy, or wrong for taking up space. We didn’t bypass it or force positivity. We stayed with it—supported, regulated, resourced.

Slowly, her energy began to move. The frozen emotion thawed. The fragment of her younger self returned. Her body softened, anchored, and opened.

By the end she said, “I feel back in my body. Aligned with myself.”

And I could see it—her presence had returned. Her energy was steady, clear, and whole.

Transformation — Not by Bypassing, but by Presence

How honoring your emotions leads to confidence and alignment

This is what true emotional healing looks like. This is how you stop overthinking and second-guessing, and start trusting yourself again.

Not by ignoring feelings. Not by muscling through them. Not by telling yourself to “let it go.”

But by letting your emotions show you what’s true, what’s ready to heal, and what is waiting to come home inside you.

Because your emotions do know the way.

I’d love to hear from you.
